Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) is an innovative construction method whereby free-standing integrated modules (completed with finishes, fixtures and fittings) are manufactured in a prefabrication factory and then transported to the site for installation in a building.
By adopting the concept of "factory assembly followed by on-site installation", MiC helps to ease some of the current challenges faced by the local construction industry, from quality control to construction productivity; while improving safety and sustainability. To encourage adoption, the HKSAR government promulgated the new GFA concession of 10% of the MiC area for buildings adopting MiC and an increase of building height up to 4% of the total storey height of MiC floor last year.
For this in-person event, we are delighted to invite distinguished guest speakers from the public and private sectors to share the latest innovation in MiC and discuss the future of construction in Hong Kong, including:
The event will be presented in Cantonese. With limited seating available, please RSVP by March 13th.
